According to the News article, the United States
has a higher rate of teen pregnancy than any other country. Most of the girls
that were interviewed stated that they did not use any form of protection while
having sexual relationships with their partner. Others also stated that they did not think they could get
pregnant at such a young age. This demonstrates the lack of education that
schools and parents give to their children. These young girls obtain the title
of an achieved status. They not only play the role of daughters but now they
are seen as mothers. They had the choice to make their decisions regarding
having sexual relationships. No one forced them to commit such an act. I
believe that in today’s society it is essential for an individual especially
for a young teenage girl to realize the consequences of their actions. It can
be simple to conform to others without thinking about the outcome.
