The new benefit of using Facebook

According to ABC news, couples are now using Facebook, YouTube, and other social networking sites to find a child to adopt.  “ Instead of posting ads in a local paper, couples are creating groups in Facebook…”.

This is a new way of using Facebook to benefit the lives of others other than just connecting people with old and new friends. For example, this has helped couples such as Molly and John Connelly who have been struggling for five years  to adopt a child and were able to after they started a Facebook group that said they were looking to adopt.

Besides words such as the social network and groups, this article relates to chapter 7 because once  the child is adopted he or she will hopefully include the adopted parents in his or her primary group.

I chose this article because I found it very interesting  that  Facebook has so many users that it is even able to find those willing to adopt the opportunity to adopt.
