The Lakers
victory over the Atlanta Hawks was due to the cooperation from the
entire team members. Kobe Bryant apparently tore his right arm’s ligament,
which led to the downfall of the Lakers reputation for quite some time. It is
apparent that Kobe Bryant is still having difficulty regaining his skills
despite claims that he has recovered from his injury. Conflict is also
apparent in this article because both teams were fighting for the same prize
therefore creating tension and pressure among the team members. I believe that
cooperation is an essential component in life. We need to cooperate with one
another in order to succeed in what we are doing. If the Lakers did not
communicate with one another during the game then they would not have succeeded
in winning the Atlanta Hawks. According to the text, “Although conflict does
have some undesirable consequences, it can also be socially beneficial”
(Shepard pg. 148). This demonstrates that conflict can be viewed negatively and
positively. I believe that conflict often helps individuals confront obstacles
such as winning a basketball game or a political debate.
