Could your personality benefit your well being or could it bring upon illnesses such as heart disease? Psychologists believe that our personality traits and socialization process skills determine our physical and mental health. Michael Miller, editor in chief of the Harvard Mental Health Letter, believes that "Everything is related to everything else. How stressed or angry you are, and how you interact with the world, is contingent in large part on your personality style." There are four major categories engaged with one’s personality and health; hostile, social, stressed, and relaxed. And there are four types of personality, A, B, C, and D. For example, individuals who are impatient and stubborn are Type A personality and are more likely to suffer from heart disease. While individuals who express positive relaxed energy are Type B. These individuals take life day by day, facing each day rather than overwhelming or stressing over the future. Type B individuals know how to manage and control stress which benefits to a healthy heart and gastrointestinal system.
