What have electoral advertisements come to?

Is it really necessary for people to go so low as to use racism to devalue a presidential nominee? Well apparently that is no problem for some people to do. There has been a great deal of focus and attention placed on this “racist, anti-Obama bumper sticker,” on Facebook and whether it was digitally altered or if it is legitimate.  The bumper sticker itself crosses out the Obama campaign logo and says “’Don't Re-Nig in 2012.’ And in smaller print below, ‘Stop repeat offenders. Don't' reelect Obama!’” .  Apparently the sticker is very real, in fact “a website called "Stumpy’s Stickers" offers the bumper sticker for sale for $3” but whether this specific bumper sticker on the car is real, reporters have yet to find out. Yahoo also reports that “the site also [offers] several other racially insensitive items for sale.” According to the website the bumper sticker’s image is also available on t-shirts.  Ironically enough the stickers goes against the message intended because “as one astute Facebook reader pointed out, the bumper sticker is not only offensive, it's pretty dumb. After all, if you take the top message at its literal meaning, to not renege in 2012, would mean to in fact re-elect President Obama.”
