Warren Jeffs' appeal denied; another sect leader is convicted of bigamy
Warren Jeff, a Texas fundamentalist sec leader, was denied appeal for sexual assault. He has been convicted to assaulting two younger girls (12 and 15 years old) because he claimed that they were his "spiritual wives". That same day, he let a man (main leader of a Texas church) go with out conviction for polygamy. Jeff has been working hard to get this life and 20 year sentenced revoked. Jeff attends a mormon church that openly practices polygamy and has many supporters in his trial. People replacing Jeff and other members of the church, are currently on trial for various forms of bigamy. In a world that is changing, there is always new laws that need to be applied to society and government issues that need to be addressed. In the past things like gay marriage is not acceptable, now it is accepted without question. It makes society and courts think about whether situations like this should be accepted.
