On the Ladder to Equality

Do men and women have equality in society? Although women have made great progress on the social and power ladder, realistically the answer is still no—at least when it comes to the work place. In an article in Yahoo News, it has been said that top ranked companies sometimes do not portray such inequalities since their policies and several different aspects are questioned under a spotlight. But this is not the case with “mid-cap companies” who don’t have many to respond to about who they hire. Yes, women aren’t filling as many executive positions as men are; but, on the bright side women’s pay is slowly creeping up to that of the men’s.
This article backs up the proof that our society consists of a dual labor market; the males in society are those that some if not most companies either currently have them labeled as or have had them labeled as “preferred workers” in the past. This issue with sexism has been seen throughout our society over past years; women have fought hard so that we can achieve statuses that give us power that other women did not have in the past. Being a past and current problem in societal equality, I see women gaining complete (or as close to completely possible) equality to men in times to come.
