Death due to Bias Intimidation

The article, “Gay spying case: Will jury convict for ‘hate’?” published by Miranda Leitsinger, presents a case of hate crime. Dharun Ravi is currently in the border of being sentenced to a decade in prison due to his use of a web camera to spy on his roommate Tyler Clementi. According to the article Tyler was homosexual and was often recorded with his partner by Dharun during their personal time. The frustration of not being able to do anything about his roommate’s violent actions led Tyler to commit suicide. Due to this catastrophe Ravi is now being convicted as the prime suspect of Tyler’s death and his case is currently being reviewed by many law professors to determine what violations Dharun committed against his roommate Tyler. As Ravi acts were because of bias intimidation.
