SOPA- "Imagine a World Without Free Knowledge."

Many websites that include: Wikipedia, Reddit, and Google and many more decided to shut down their website for 24 hours in protest of the Anti-Privacy Bill on January 18, 2012. The Anti-Privacy Bill states that there should be a certain amount of censorship in the Internet. The conformity of the numerous websites that participated in the protest shows that they strongly believe the Bill should not pass. Furthermore, many different websites tried to get the message across and make people take actions to stop online privacy act; for example, Reddit asked their users, " please take today as a day of focus and action." The shutdown showed  how many people often rely on the Internet for daily information and were stressed over it when certain websites decided to shut down for 24 hours. I think that if the bill pass it would violates Freedom of Speech. If the bill pass many people would see their website disappear and would be consider a crime for putting  photos or posting a video (source, http://act2.freepress.net/sign/sopa_letter/). If the online privacy act pass many website will have to pay or will be force shut down and it also affects many people who use the Internet.  Are we in  danger of losing free knowledge?
