No doubt, for many years our American culture has been to drink coffee every morning as there may be a few of us who drink coffee at any time of the day. It was recently published

that
Starbucks plans to sell beer and wine here in Southern California. The U.S
“coffee giant” as referred to by Jennifer Mattson believes this company is
hoping to emerge their market profits. Currently reported by writer, Dow Jones,
Starbucks has begun selling alcohol at five local stores in Seattle. Clarice
Turner (Starbucks’ senior vice president of US operations) reports in a
statement to Starbucks new market transition, “As our customers transition from
work to home, many looking for an inviting place to unwind and connect with the
people they care about”.

Although, this
transition may be favorable to those who are able to drink legally, critics
such as Sarah Mart (the groups director of research) states, “ the more places
that open, the more risk there is of alcohol-related harm” due to the wake up
call of underage drinking. What
became to be a place of comfort to study while enjoying a cool caramel frapuccino,
will now become a loud place for happy hour enjoyment! This new system at
Starbucks will become a
folkway of
being more sociable with friends and family. Due to this factor college
students like students from nearby high schools will become attracted to mingle
more often in places like Starbucks. With this thought in mind there is no
doubt
society is directing a belief
that a good time is not a good time without alcohol!
Although, the law is specific for drinking age limit,
Starbucks may no longer become a place for youngsters under the age of 21 to
hang around which perhaps prove to be a new ideal
culture system.
