Los Angeles Times recently released an article stating that
a Roosevelt High School teacher has been arrested for having alleged sexual
relationships with two male students. Although the students are now legal
adults, at the time of the sexual harassment
they were underage. The first victim came out with the news once the
teacher broke off the relationship they had, and recent after the second victim
admitted to also having sexual relationships. This article was interesting,
because although it is not the first act of sexual harassment made from a
woman, it still goes against the idea of gender
socialization which in our society usually sees women as victims rather
than the ones practicing force over others. Nonetheless, this is a crime that
needs to go punished equally as any other serious sexual harassment crime.
